Monica is special to the Plano Early Lions Club. Even though she is blind, her disability has not affected her spirit or her love of life and people. She has always loved music, and began singing when she was only a year old. Two years ago, Monica began lessons with Mrs. Anne Bowman and she has worked diligently. She has performed in the spring and fall studio piano recitals, and most recently received a Superior + score at the Sonatina Festival and the American Composer Festival by the Plano Music Teachers Association.
In addition to piano, Monica enjoys a variety of activities including church, Girl Scouts, horseback riding, zip-lining, bowling, roller coasters, and go-carts. Her summer activities include summer school at Texas School for the Blind and Visually impaired, camping at Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville and Camp Summit in Argyle. Monica loves horses, dogs, and has two cats named Lewis and Clark. Her mother and father are Lion’s with the Plano Early Lion’s Club, and are so very proud of all her accomplishments!
